Quilter 501 - Block 1 - French General fabrics

I absolutely love this quilt and have just finished my first block.  I have decided to only use my French General fabrics and to do it in needle turn applique and broderie perse.  The backgrounds will be assorted solids from the collection....mainly shades of beige.  The darker grey, denim fabrics will be used for the leaves, arcs and stems.
It is an experiment, but I have a resolution to use stash materials this year on new projects.  :)

    1. The buds were fun to do. Now I have to decide if I do the same broderie perse buds on each block.....or use some of the magnificent other little flowers available in French general.

    1. I too was torn between the two choices......perhaps do TWO....one of each. I am still thinking about that. Always suffering from delusions of grandeur.... :)

    1. No, the buds aren't 3-D....just broderie perse. But what a great idea! Wouldn't that be fun to try!
