Block 1

Hello all,
I am new to this blogging thing, so bear with me.  My name is Leslie, I live in Bellevue, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha.  I am a long time quilter, and in love with applique.  My friend Cheri showed me this quilt and twisted my arm to join her in doing it and going on the blog to post.  Needless to say, she didn't twist very hard.
So I collected fabric from my stash, got background, and bought a few more reds and greens.  One of the things that most attracted me to the quilt was the center block with some indigo.  I decided I wanted more indigo, so I will try and add blues to every block.
I also changed the outer edge of the red on my block, so it was a little more interesting.  And, like Cheri, I fussy cut my buds.  Here is my completed block.  Now lets see if I can add the photos.  Fingers crossed.

  1. Well done!! Your block is wonderful and you certainly know how to post to the blog - great pictures! Your fabrics will be fun to work with.

  2. I was enjoying your color choices when I realized that some patterns looked familiar. We clearly stash built in the same time frame as I own 6 of these same prints (in the same colors.) I think I may have recently cleared them from the stash. But I can neither confirm nor deny that allegation.
